Adrian Sanchez
Director, Peer Learning

Adrian Sanchez serves as a director of peer learning for the HAVI. He is a public health professional with over a decade of experience in advancing racial equity, health equity, and social justice work. As director of peer learning, Adrian oversees the HAVI’s membership services and engagement work, facilitates peer learning, technical assistance, and communities of practice for the HAVI network. He also leads the planning, implementation, and evaluation for the HAVI’s annual conference that draws over hundreds of frontline workers, health care providers, researchers, and community stakeholders. Prior to joining the HAVI, Adrian was the Lead Training Officer at Youth ALIVE! a public health nonprofit in Oakland, CA that established the country’s first hospital-based violence intervention program, Caught in the Crossfire. At Youth ALIVE!, Adrian provided technical assistance and capacity building support to programs and agencies working with male survivors of violence. He also managed the coordination and strategic growth of the National Network of Hospital-Based Violence Intervention Programs (now the HAVI) when it was under the administration and operations of Youth ALIVE! Adrian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnic Studies and Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, and is nearing the completion of a Master in Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the UC Berkeley School of Public Health.
