David Ross
Training Manager
David Ross, a lifelong resident of Baltimore, Maryland is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) and psychotherapist with a B.A. in Media Arts and Entertainment. David serves as a training manager for communities of practice (CoP) at the HAVI. He has over two decades of experience as a Violence Prevention Professional at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland and served as a consultant for trauma centers and academic institutions nationwide.
As co-founder of the entertainment group, The 5th L, David performed socially conscious poetry, produced events, and facilitated creative writing workshops in a wide variety of venues throughout the United States. He has contributed to several scholarly journals and academic texts. He has also published a collection of poetic literature and music.
David’s distinguished honors include The Guilbert A. Daley Dramatic Arts and Speech Communications Award, the Governor's Victim Assistance Award, the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Hero Award, and induction into the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of African American History and Culture. Through his creative arts endeavors and work at the HAVI, David aspires to be a socially conscious agent of change.
