Josephine Pang
Senior Manager, Peer Learning

Josephine (she/her/hers) serves as a senior manager of peer learning for the HAVI. Prior to joining the HAVI, she worked at Newton-Wellesley Hospital’s Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program in Newton, MA and has worked in community-based, school-based and hospital-based settings to support individuals and families that have been impacted by interpersonal and institutional violence within historically disinvested communities throughout the Greater Boston Area since 2011.

Josephine is committed to approaching the work from anti-oppression and anti-racist frameworks. She is passionate about using empowerment and person-centered frameworks alongside embodiment and mindfulness-based practices for supporting individuals who have been impacted by interpersonal and structural violence. Over the years, Josephine has facilitated a number of BIPOC-lead, peer-to-peer leadership spaces to address issues around health/mental health disparities that disproportionally impact communities of color and individuals with intersecting, marginalized identities; reducing vicarious and secondary trauma; and improving overall outcomes for survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault within their respective systems as well as state-wide.

A Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Josephine holds a Bachelor's degree in Critical Gender Studies from the University of California- San Diego and a Master's degree from Boston College’s Graduate School of Social Work.
