Julie Banda, MPH
Senior Director, Communications
Julie Banda serves as the Senior Director of Communications at the HAVI, where she leads efforts to elevate the organization’s visibility and shape public discourse on violence as a public health issue. For more than 25 years, she has specialized in blending audience insights, brand strategy, and research-informed messaging to engage audiences and drive systems-level change.
Committed to culturally responsive storytelling and equity-driven communications, Julie develops strategies that resonate with diverse communities and foster meaningful change. Prior to joining the HAVI, Julie held leadership roles at Vinfen, MORE Advertising, and Health Resources in Action (HRiA), where she led award-winning, high-impact campaigns and initiatives for clients including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), and the Governor’s Council to Address Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and Human Trafficking.
Julie holds a Master of Public Health in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Adult Health Fitness and Health Education from the College of Charleston.
