Moderator:

  • Kyndra Simmons, PhD, MS
    Senior Director, Communities of Practice, The HAVI

    Kyndra Simmons is a nationally recognized expert in urban violence prevention, has over 25 years of experience working with at-risk youth and families. She is the senior director of frontline support and CVI integration at HAVI, where she leads the Violence Prevention Professional (VPP) Training and Certification Program and oversees the Empowering the Front Line (EFL) member working group. Kyndra also provides ongoing TTA to HVIP frontline staff. Previously, she was the director of programs at Youth ALIVE! in Oakland, CA, empowering violently injured individuals to heal. She holds a PhD in community psychology, with research on the impact of community violence, and degrees in psychology (B.S. and M.S.).

  • Christine Goggins, MFA, LSW
    Lead Violence Recovery Specialist, UChicago Medicine

    A survivor of gun violence, Christine Goggins is a licensed social worker with a passion for addressing its root causes, especially housing insecurity. With 17 years of experience, she leads violence recovery efforts at UChicago Medicine, providing trauma-informed care and training. She's also a national leader in developing and supporting new Hospital Violence Intervention Programs. 

  • John Torres, MS, MFT
    Associate Director, Youth ALIVE!

    A 30-year veteran in Community Violence Intervention, John Torres leads intervention and healing programs at Youth ALIVE! in Oakland, California. He's a licensed therapist, supporting both clients and staff, and a recognized expert who trains frontline workers and presents at national conferences. His work focuses on crisis response, trauma support, and organizational strategy.

  • Tiffany Davis, MPH, CPST-I
    Injury Prevention Program Coordinator, IU Health Methodist Hospital

    Tiffany Davis is an Injury Prevention Coordinator at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Indianapolis, where she spearheaded the launch of their hybrid HVIP in 2024. With a Master's in Public Health, she combines her passion for violence prevention with a focus on program sustainability and community health. As an Indianapolis native, her work is deeply rooted in serving her local community.
